Totti Praises Kuffour
Roma captain Francesco Totti says the Italian club’s new Ghanaian signing Samuel Osei Kuffour is set for an “outstanding season”.
Totti has praised the performances of the 29-year-old former Black Stars captain, who missed Ghana’s World Cup qualifying campaign this year after a fall out with coach Ratomir Dujkovic.
“We have already seen a new AS Roma this season,” said Totti. “Kuffour is fundamental to our performances and is going to make a major difference.”
The former world under-17 champion left German champions Bayern Munich on a free transfer at the end of last season to join the Serie A club, who also signed the Democratic Republic of Congo captain Shabani Nonda from French side Monaco.
Kuffour has already been described by Italian newspapers as the ‘new Aldair’, a reference to the much loved ex-Brazilian World Cup winner who spent 13 seasons at Roma.
“This team and this town are just the change I have needed,” Kuffour told reporters this week.
