Abedi Pele wants debt relief for Africa 6/30/2005
Ghanaian football legend, Abedi Ayew Pele will be in Scotland during next month’s G8 summit to lobby the Western powers to press ahead with the plan for debt relief for Africa.

The former Black Stars captain will be joining the continent’s political leaders to make a case for Africa, the most impoverished continent in the world.

Abedi, a man of great standing and reputation, is trusted to speak on behalf of millions because of what he achieved with a ball at his feet.

He came from a poor background but went on to win the European Cup with Marseille, and also played for teams like Lille, Lyon, Torino and 1860 Munich.

The maestro is of the conviction that Football really makes a lot of difference in Africa when it comes to political decisions.
