Andy Cole to coach Ghana?
..David Seaman - Ghana goalkeeping coach? ANDREW COLE, the Manchester City and former England forward, has been approached by Ghana to be part of their coaching staff for the World Cup finals in Germany. The 34-year-old holder of 15 caps for England has been asked to join up with the Ghana squad for their preparations before moving on to Germany, where the African nation, who include Michael Essien, the Chelsea midfield player, among their ranks, will be making their first appearance in the finals. “I am really interested in what Ghana have to say and I’m looking forward to meeting them to talk about the job,” Cole said.
Dennis Tawian, a representative of the Ghana FA, said that an approach had been made to Cole, a European Cup winner with Manchester United in 1999. “He (Cole) is well known in Ghana where they see more Premiership football than the fans do in England,” Tawian said. “We want to give our players the best preparation possible for the World Cup and believe Cole could play a very important part in that.
“One of the villages in Ghana called Obusa has promised to make him their chief if Ghana get past the group stages in Germany.”
David Seaman is likely to turn down an offer to be the Ghana goalkeeping coach.
