| Countdown to Prestige challenge cup begins |

The biggest competitionon the Ghanaian golf calendar swings into action this Saturday at the Achimota golf club.
The Peugeot Challenge cup is on with tickets to represent Ghana at the prestigious Pro Am golf cup in Paris later this year.
The tournament sponsors Prestige Motors will announce a big package for the participating golfers with their partners Lufthansa today at a press conference.
Last year, Prestige sent six golfers to the Paris tournament instead of the two winners and they are expected to top that package this year.
Meanwhile the Achimota golf club says it is ready for the challenge of hosting the nations’ finest golfers.
They fancy the tournament will put the club back in the limelight.
Though the Achimota golf club claims to be the most illustrious golf club in Ghana with its rich history, it has in recent times lost its appeal to rival club, the Tema Country golf club.
However, Achimota hopes to assert its’ status with tournaments like the Peugeot challenge cup.
The participating golfers from the Damang golf club and the Kumasi golf club are expected in Accra today to practise on the Achimota course tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s tee-off.
