Muslims urged to take advantage credit facilities
Takoradi Jan 10, GNA - Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Western Regional Minister, on Tuesday called on Muslims to form co-operatives to enable them to access the numerous micro-credit facilities in place to better their lots.
She made the call in an address read for her at the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adah, Festival of Sacrifice, by Ahmadiyya Muslims at Takoradi. Madam Horner-Sam said the National Health Insurance Health Insurance Scheme was on course and urged Muslims to register with the scheme in their areas.
She said, "It is only through this way that we can have easy and quality health care delivery for all in the country". Madam Horner-Sam said the essence of the Capitation Grant was to make it possible for all Ghanaians children of school-going age to have access to basic education free of charge. She said, "My appeal again is for parents to try as much as possible to take advantage of the grant and send their children to school". Madam Horner-Sam asked Muslims to take a cue from the story of Abraham and rely on Allah and not to see their neighbour as an opponent. She said, "Let us, therefore, not take the law into our own hands but rely on Allah, as our judge in all our dealings". Maulvi Naveed Ahmad Aadil, Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, said Allah gave Abraham a ram to sacrifice instead of his son because he accepted his righteousness.
He said Allah was more concerned with the righteousness of man than the sacrifice of animals during the festival. Maulvi Aadil said Muslims should use the festival to love and live at peace with their neighbours. He said the festival should also teach Muslims to be forgiving, to be sympathetic towards the poor and the needy and avoid conflict and hatred.Source:
