Freddy Blay Defends MPs Demand For Bodyguards 12/29/2006
The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Freddie Blay, has defended Members Of Parliament (MPs) demands for body guards and tightened security at their residents, saying such demands are legitimate.

The MP for Ahafoano South, Hon. Stephen Balado Manu, made the demand which was widely supported by his colleagues, days before Parliament went on recess on December 18.

Just three days after threatening to cripple the operations of the Foreign Ministry because of the lopsided manner MPs are treated when they travel out of Ghana, Members of Ghanaian legislature are making new demands.
