| NDC On Course For 2008 Victory - MP |

The Member of Parliament for Ho East, Mrs Juliana Azumah-Mensah, says the current peace and unity blowing in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) camp was enough indication that the party would regain power during the 2008 general election.
She said after six years of New Patriotic Party (NPP) rule, during which it had been unable to solve most of its electoral promises, Ghanaians, who were the better judges, would not give it another chance to continue to mismanage affairs of the country.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Mrs Azumah-Mensah said the recent congress to elect the party''s flag bearer for the 2008 presidential election had shown that internal democracy in the party had improved.
''This should send a clear signal to detractors of NDC that the party is not a violent one'', she intimated, adding ''we are looking forward to a very successful electioneering and crowning it with victory''.
Mrs Azumah-Mensah, who is also the Minority Spokesperson on Women and Children, stated that supporters of NDC were satisfied with the successful organisation of the special congress, which culminated in the election of the former Vice-President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, as the flag bearer of the party.
She also commended the other three contestants, Dr Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Mr Eddie Annan and Alhaji Iddrisu Mahama for exhibiting maturity after losing the contest and promising to rally behind the eventual winner.
Mrs Azumah-Mensah said what was left for supporters of the party was to start the campaign for ''our march towards the Castle'' now and not wait till next year.
She said ''there are clear signals that the NPP would lose the 2008 election, but what remains is for us to continue to unite and rally behind our flag bearer and parliamentary candidates to seal the deal''.
