Effah-Dartey Warns NPP ‘Moneybags’’ 1/16/2007
Tuesday, 16 January 2007
One of the contenders in the New Patriotic party (NPP) presidential aspirants race, Captain (rtd) Nkrabea Effah-Dartey, has sounded off warnings that seem to be confirming what sections of the public have suspected for a long time, but are as yet to have concrete evidence to support. He warned his fellow competitors, who re doling out huge amounts of cash in attempts to influence party delegates, that the race is not for the highest bidder.

He also accused some of his colleague aspirants of ‘using money to buy front page banners for headlines in newspapers to further their cause.”Speaking without mentioning names, he left none in doubt that some aspirants of the party are virtually throwing money away left, right and centre, thinking that is what would win them the votes of potential delegates at the NPP party scheduled to be held in December this year.

Capt Effah Darteh, who is also the Member of Parliament for Berekum, told the Independent newspaper that such huge spending-aspirants will have the shock of their lives when those delegates they are splashing with cash, who by the end of this year would have benefited handsomely from their misguided and miscalculated generosity, reject them (aspirants) at the NPP congress come December2007.
