Kwaku Baako Descends On Aggudey 1/26/2007
The Editor-in-chief of the Crusading Guide newspaper and a guru of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr. Kweku Baako Jnr., has taken a swipe at his former flagbearer and chief director of the Gocrest Security Company, Mr. George Opesika Aggudey, saying he is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the CPP and the law profession.

According to Mr. Baako, Mr. Aggudey’s actions and inactions do not reflect those of a serious politician seeking the mandate of the people to become the next President, adding that it was high time his name was omitted from the list of serious politicians in the country.“His utterances clearly show the kind of person he is. Look, people thought I was being hard on the man when I refused to support him in the 2004 elections and I think his recent actions vindicate the position I took”, the CPP firebrand stated. He made these remarks yesterday on Metro TV.

In another attacking move, Mr. Baako said the choice of Mr. Aggudey as the party’ flagbearer in the 2004 elections was a great debacle to what he described as the Great CPP. He stated that upon all the campaign trail - what was due to the party was just One (1) percent, pointing out it was just a waste of resources. Continuing, he said Mr. Aggudey should think about how he could settle his debt and stop ranting riot and castigating people innocently. “I think Mr. Aggudey should spare us our eyes,” however, Mr. Kweku Baako, chastised the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for allowing a company to heap such an amount.

Furthermore, he urged state institutions not to be reluctant in pursuing fraud cases involving politicians since they are human like any other citizen. An Accra Circuit Court last Monday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Mr. Aggudey for allegedly evading payment of SSNIT contributions of his workers for the past 10years to the tune of 8.5billion cedis. Mr. Aggudey came out strongly to accuse the government of masterminding the action of the Social Security and Insurance Truest (SSNIT) a charge which the SSNIT management has since been denied.
