Ghana''s ANC Opponents Thrown out of hotel
It was a black Christmas for 15 Super Eagles players and four officials who left for Faro, Portugal, last week to commence preparatiaons for the upcoming African Cup of Nations holding between January 20 and February 10 in Egypt as they were disgracefully thrown out of their Browns Resort Hotel in Faro while they were dining and wining on the Christmas day.

Contrary to the belief that the Sports Ministry’s accountant had paid for the hotel bill for a duration of three weeks prior to the team’s arrival on the 21st, SoccerStar can authoritatively report today that the hotel management have yet to receive the balance of the bill from the ministry, and as such ran out of patience.

According to an official of the national team, as a result of this, the entire team were ordered to leave the hotel until their accommodation bill was fully paid.

“This is an embarrassment and a national disgrace,” an embittered official of the team who begged for anonymity thundered from Faro.

“I was shocked when the hotel manager of Browns Resort told us to pack out immediately because our hotel bill has not been paid,” he continued.

“When are we going to change? I wonder the kind of arrangement reached between the Sports Ministry and the hotel management. I’m totally disappointed. Can you imagine that we were kicked out of this premises by the hotel management while we were busy enjoying ourselves yesterday? (Christmas day).

“We had to beg like refugees to give us some days of grace. We are still here by God’s grace.” Meanwhile, there are reports that the team’s accountant who doubles as NFA’s Acting Secretary-General in the absence of detained Fanny Amun, Osawaro Onyewase, has arrived Faro to clear the hotel bill.

It would be recalled that following the dissolution of the NFA board, the Sports Ministry hijacked the responsibility of handling the Super Eagles Nations Cup preparation.
